Chassis No. COB 5008 is the very last of just 10 perfect recreations of the definitive iconic 427 S/C Cobra that were hand-built in aluminium and fully completed by the original UK manufacturer - AC Cars Ltd. in Surrey - from 1990 to 2003. It is accurate and faithful to the 1965 original down to the minutest detail. 3000 man-hours and a year in construction using the 1960's AC Thames Ditton Factory jigs and bucks; in addition all major mechanical components are from the same period and were exhaustively researched and sourced. This example was specially commissioned by myself and then sold to Derek Warwick (Ex F1/Le Mans etc.) It has a number of highly desirable features including an 8 litre 'Stroker' engine with aluminium heads giving c. 550 bhp and 'Top-Loader' Rug g/box with Hurst shifter. Fully trimmed and with comprehensive weather equipment in tailored bags. UK Registered as a 1966 'Historic Vehicle' and freshly serviced with new MOT; eligible for FIA Papers. Absolutely awesome performance but completely docile and tractable even in rush-hour traffic. These 'end of an era' genuine AC Cobras have all proved excellent investments, and with COB 5008 being the very last of the line, with under 2000 miles from new and in top 'Concours' condition, its credentials are impeccable.
