ALFA ROMEO 8C Spider (2010)

The stunning 8C (Competizione) coupe was introduced as a concept at the Frankfurt Motor Show in 2003 and was inspired by the classic racing Alfas of the 1950’s and 60’s. In 2006 Alfa Romeo announced that it would build a production version of the coupe (which differed only slightly from the concept) and was to be limited to only 500 units resulting in an instantly collectible modern classic.
The 8C utilised a modified Maserati platform and powertrain from the 4200/GranTurismo models with a 4.7 Litre V8 assembled by Ferrari. The gearbox was a 6-speed transaxle unit that offered paddle-shift manual or automatic operation. Production of the coupe commenced in 2007.
Alfa Romeo presented the even more beautiful 8C Spider concept at the 2005 Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance and confirmed production in September 2007, again limited to 500 units but with a higher price tag than the coupe. Production then began in 2009 at the Maserati factory in Modena.
The 8C Spider presented here is finished in the classic colour combination of Alfa Red with black leather interior and carbon-fibre centre console. The service history shows scheduled maintenance at 428 miles on the 23rd August 2009 and 2,155 miles on the 26th June 2013. The 8C was recently serviced at a UK specialist at 2,825 miles.
This gorgeous 8C Spider has been cherished from new and has seen seldom use showing less than 3,000 miles. The car comes complete with an Alfa Romeo car cover and its original wallet with all manuals. As one would expect, with such low mileage this 8C is in excellent condition.
