Description

Derby Bentley B 137 LE is a 4 1/4 Litre from June 1930.  It was fitted with engine number C8BL and carried a 'phaeton' style all-weather body by Thrupp and Maberly.  This was to design number B 1075/M of which just 9 were fitted to the 4 1/4 Derby chassis, this being the last.  A characteristic of this design was that all doors were hung from the 'B' post and the hood, when folded, sits above the level of the doors.
The original UK registration number was FXP 472.  The car was first owned by J.T. Johnson of Eastbourne, England and it was sold originally through Rootes Ltd. of London and then to Jack Barclay.
