BMW 3 SERIES M3 1991 (1991) SOLD
Description
Its 16 years since I sold this very rare Birds UK Hartge 2.5 litre E30 M3 to the current owner so it was very exciting to be reunited. It was the third Motorsport BMW this customer purchased from me the others being a red E28 M5 which I still see and another right hand drive M3. The attention to detail and care that my customer has lavished on this lovely car throughout his years of ownership is awesome.
Supplied new in 1991 and an original UK car, the supplying dealer immediately sent it to Birds UK the Hartge agent. They then carried out the very well known Birds UK right hand drive conversion, fitted air conditioning and, at great expense carried out the full Hartge H3 260 2.5 litre 260 bhp engine conversion.
The car has had four owners and features a stunning and 100% complete full service history from new. To support the fully stamped service book is an amazing documented history which has been carefully researched by the current owners and includes every single document for works carried out during their sixteen years of ownership. It is believed that this actual car was used for the 1990 and 1991 parade laps at the start of the Silverstone round of the World Touring Car Championship. These guys are fastidious about the care of all their cars and it is not possible to put into words the level of care that has been lavished on this car to achieve a truly stunning and immaculate E30 M3.
In more recent years the family embarked on a sympathetic restoration of the car to ensure it remained in the condition they expected from all their toys. Mechanically the car has wanted for nothing. The dampers, springs, every suspension bush, ball joints, brake lines, fuel lines, hoses, brakes, etc have been replaced. Far too much to list here. The fitment of Motec engine management to ensure the very best performance is achieved from her 260 bhp 2.5 litre engine.
The interior has had brand new factory door cards and the leather is original and in awesome condition. The car cosmetically is like new having benefitted from a total strip down, glass out respray and then re-assembled with new black work, trim, seals, lights, grills, stripes, spoilers, etc, etc. Again, far too much to list here.
The car has given this family 16 years of true pleasure and the decision to sell this car has been a very tough one. The funds are going towards a new and exciting home. A fully restored river badge. They are passionate about their car and bike collection and wish us to find a new home where this car will be loved and enjoyed as much as they have. It will be greatly missed!
