The car was sold in 1982 and went through a number of owners until it ended up with the cars penultimate owner who ran the car until 1986 when he took it off the road with a view to conducting a minor rebuild, the car didn’t go back on the road. The car was purchased by its current keeper in 2000 and was completely stripped back to bare metal and then dry stored until the restoration commenced at the beginning of 2012.
OHK 59P is a matching numbers car. The 350 cubic inch V8 engine, Muncie four speed manual gearbox and rear posi-traction axle are all date stamped and numbered as the cars original equipment.
This car has been the subject of one of the most extensive professional restorations imaginable.
800 hours alone have gone into the preparation of the bodywork before the Chevrolet Granada Gold was applied, period correct Chevrolet racing black sides & red pinstriping were added. Three coats of clear laquer were then applied over the entire car.
The original engine was completely rebuilt and is documents and verified as having covered just 37,000 miles.
The original Muncie four speed gearbox has the original Muncie shifter with the rare Muncie stamped gear lever.
The original flywheel has been skimmed and the car has a completely new clutch assembly.
The balanced propshaft has new front and rear yokes.
The brake system has been completely refurbished, the original front disc brakes have had a complete rebuild, the calipers were re sleeved in Stainless Steel, new brake power master cylinder, new lines throughout.
The car received a complete bare metal respray and nut & bolt restoration, the front clip was removed, sand blasted and then painted and detailed with new bushings throughout.
The car has new factory correct suspension all round.
The car has completely new factory correct wiring.
The fresh interior is the correct factory deluxe Gold with center console as it came from the factory.
The vintage look Chevrolet radio is a modern upgrade with hidden I pod terminal.
New 17” Rocket wheels and tyres.
The car has covered less than 500 miles since the restoration was completed.
