Built in 2005 the Ford GT began as a concept car designed in anticipation of the automakers centennial year and to revive the heritage names like Mustang and Thunderbird. It was first showcased as a concept car at the 2002 Detroit Auto Show as the GT40 Concept Car. Carroll Shelby was bought in to oversee the development and testing of the GT. The appearance of the GT is very similar to the original Ford GT40 but it is bigger, wider and crucially 43 inches tall, 3 inches taller than the original GT40. Three production prototype cars were shown in 2003 as part of Ford/'s centennial celebrations, and delivery of the production Ford GT began in the fall of 2004. This particular car is one of the 101 GTs delivered new in to the European market. With just two owners from new and less than 7000 miles on the clock, this is an unbelievable opportunity to own a true American icon with a classic heritage.
