Jaguar XJR V8 T&T 65k miles Great looking supersaloon. M3,M5,AMG,XJ8,BMW (2000)

Probably the best-specced, lowest mileage XJR available in the country. With 65k warranted miles with full history, stamped and up-to-date and a folder of invoices and bills and original handbooks. HPI-clear, with report.

Also this is the ultimate specification XJR (unofficially an XJR-R) with the rare and desirable R-pack with larger Brembo brake discs with 4-pot calipers, Jaguar/BBS Milan 18'' alloys, and lightweight red space-saver spare wheel. It has all the other options ticked too - apart from a sunroof and heated rear seats, this car has every single factory option! Premium Alpine stereo with subwoofer, sat nav, cruise control, phone, ice-cold aircon. etc, etc. and everything works. With all these options this car would have cost around £65000 when new!
Mechanically this example drives as it should - with 370 bhp as standard, these cars are still one of the fastest accelerating saloon cars available (0-60 in 5.2 sec; 0-100 in about 13! - not far off the legendary Lotus Carlton!). It's tight and precise to drive as you'd expect with the low miles. Easy to drive quickly and a pleasure to cruise at normal speeds. It stops well too, thanks to those larger brakes, though being ultra-critical, there's some vibration from the f discs under heavy braking. Tyres all have decent tread and should last a good while; alloys in nice presentable condition and haven't been kerbed.
The interior is beautiful - nice and clean and fresh, just hoovered and smells nice. A lovely place to be as the driver or as a passenger.
The bodyshell/structure is rust-free, as are the wheelarches and wings, and the car's finished in Champagne Metallic with the chrome pack, which sets it off nicely - I've never seen a UK one in this colour scheme. There are a few areas of paint which would benefit from improvement, which is why I'm not asking over £4k for this top-spec low-mileage car with full history. But as you see, it still looks good and cuts it as a stylish classic Jaguar with the power to impress at every level.
Note that this is a phase 2 car without the Nikasil issues and with the later timing chain tensioners. The supercharged engine has detail differences to the normal 4.0 V8 and is less stressed and thus more reliable than them; and the gearbox is the bombproof Mercedes unit, unlike the XJ8's ZF unit which will break sooner or later and doesn't offer the same peachy and imperceptive shift quality. The XJR's power/torque and the way it delivers it is far superior to the XJ8 - 100-150 mph takes 40 seconds LESS in an XJR! Drive one, you'll not want anything else. For power, ease of driving, pleasure behind the wheel, handling, luxury, equipment and classic shape, and depreciation-proof value-for-money, they are my favourite car by far and I can't think of any other car which does all this!?
With MOT until March 26, 2014 and taxed until April (only £225/year), this car is reliable and ready to enjoy!
Delivery anywhere available at cost price (fuel @ 30mpg + train fare home). No part-exes thanks. I always have a few other XJRs in for sale as I love the model!
Part exchange:No thanks
