1966 Lotus Cortina MkI Evocation (1966)

This exquisite Cortina MkI evocation has been finished to a very high standard, and is ideally set up for fast road specification with the flexibility to use as a basis for historic racing.
Running a 1600cc Kent crossflow engine, with big valve head and 280 degree cam, it is fed by twin-40 Weber carburettors and powers a Bullet close-ratio transmission.
The powerplant is set up for 10.60-1 compression and features an alloy flywheel and AP Racing 3-plate clutch assembly. Fittingly, it is set up with Bilstein shock absorbers, and runs a disc brake setup on all four corners.
The suspension features dual front anti-roll bars and rear anti-roll struts with an axle tramp bar. Running on period-correct Lotus deep dish rims, the car’s stance is impressive and is resplendent in Lotus Cortina’s classical two-tone paint scheme.
Additional investment has been made in the fuel system which features braided hoses and a racing fuel cell mounted in the boot compartment. Overall, this car has been carefully crafted to produce what is described as a very fast machine with the looks and style that only a MkI Cortina can capture.
To be supplied with a full MoT and documents to prepare registration for its first UK owner, with this car having been delivered originally to South Africa.
