1971 Lotus Elan +2 130/s (1971)

1971 Lotus Elan +2 130/s
Arriving in 1967 the Lotus Elan +2 was a strong competitor for other British sports car manufacturers such as TVR, MG and Triumph. The Lotus Elan +2 evolved from the original Lotus Elan of 1962, with a longer wheel base, bigger valve engine and a fully independent suspension the Elan +2 was not only more practical but was also deemed much more reliable than the original Elan. With its fibre glass body and its speed, performance and reliability it is safe to say that the 1971 Lotus Elan +2 130/s was ahead of its time.
Samuel Laurence is pleased to present a Lotus Elan +2 130/s 4 speed in BRG complemented with white racing stripes. Obtaining its originality with complete matching numbers, original workshop manual and extensive history file this is an exceptional example of its time.
The cars its self has had a complete suspension rebuild with upgraded power flex suspension bushes, new track rod ends and new front and rear road/race springs. Additional recent works include a full rebuild of both weber carburettors and new break discs with callipers.
It’s believed that fewer than 1,000 of these cars remain on the roads to date, with its performance, practicality and rarity these cars are growing fonder and fonder amongst not only collectors but classic car enthusiasts all over.
