Lotus Elise S1 1998 Ruby Red (~150bhp) (1998)
Owned by me since November 2007 and for the first 2 years a daily drive then becoming more of a weekend/track car which it is perfectly suited for. Over the last 4 years it has spent more time inside than I would like only due to other car related projects. I'm not using it enough to justify keeping anymore so I'd like it to be appreciated by someone else.
As I was using this car frequently, traveling into Europe and some track time I have always made sure the car was completely reliable. Pretty much everything that’s likely to wear or cause a problem has been replaced at some point. Mechanically this is a very sound car.
Engine has always been strong. Always made good power, 135bhp after the head-work. I've not put it on the rollers since fitting cams but it pulls very well, estimate 150. Brakes are awesome.
Compete disclosure. The paintwork does need attention, it is in need of a repaint. Noise, the coolant pipe in the N/S sill klonks occasionally. Interior shows some wear. Red soft-top is tired.
