Lotus Excel SE, 1991. 37,000 miles from new.   Last gentleman owner for 15 years.   Exceptional low-milage example in glorious Monaco White with full soft raven hide and factory fitted air-conditioning.  Having just driven this example for a 150 mile run, I can report that it is one of the best Excels I have driven since we had a 9,000 mile example some 16 years ago.    Glorious handling at high and low speeds.   I have driven one in anger around Brands Hatch many years ago and a good example will handle as well as an Esprit of the same era.  Supplied by Storm of Leicester in February 1991 and serviced by them throughout that decade using Mobil 1 oil.  Maintained thereafter by Lotus/Excel specialists GST Performance and other specialists.  Original Blaupunkt Stereo completes the cabin’s interior scene.  Lovely crack-free burr walnut facia with all functioning instruments.  Fabulous power steering, electric windows, heated electric mirrors and little used leather interior that retains the distinctive aroma of this opulent interior of it’s day.   Fantastic original engine bay which is in in show condition because of it’s originality.    Original red wrinkle finish on it’s twin cam covers is still intact and not flaking off.     Incredible pristine paintwork complements the almost unmarked interior. Specially commissioned full stainless steel exhaust system. Correct Lotus OZ alloys etc. etc.  Cambelt replaced 2,000 miles ago and this fine vehicle will be serviced and MOT’d before it leaves our premises.  Superb value at £8,995.
