Lotus S1 Exige. Two Owners genuine documented 12700miles original unmodified spec (2000)
There cannot be too many left like this car. A fair amount have been exported and LHD converted/crashed/tracked/heavily modified and/or rebuilt.
One previous owner on V5. Two owners in 17 years period from new. Obviously always garaged but Lotus/specialist serviced and used minimally but regularly.
These cars are an incredible head turner and have massive road presence without the cost of a 360 Scuderia or 911RS.
As you can see my S1 is original condition throughout save removable EP rear diffuser, genuine Lotus Motorsport screen banner and obligatory quick shift/nylatron shift linkage bushes. The gear lever gate is a factory accessory dealer fitted when new. It's original grumpy VHPD 190 motor is in place which as you would expect with 12k miles runs superb. I cannot understand why owners have removed the VHPD when it is the very essence of an S1 Exige. No overheating issues or any problems are apparent. Also has its fitted when delivered Kenwood CD stereo.
The Laser blue paintwork is original and in great condition throughout. No deterioration of finish anywhere through age. Four keys (yes an S1 came with four of the same key, two with alarm fobs and two without) meta card and plastic key code tag, all books/wallet, optional factory Exige mats, receipts for servicing etc etc all come with this simply stunning S1. The car's obviously been massively over serviced since day one.
As with the rest of the car the blue leather/alcantara interior is in superb condition with no signs of wear or any form of abuse. It almost smells new! Has factory A/C which works as well as an S1 Exige set up can.
All wheels are un-kerbed and with excellent Yoko’s all round. The rear hatch is unmarked and clear.
As you would expect the car drives as new and is on the button. Lotus will never build another car quite as brutal and raw as the S1 Exige. These cars are the real deal for the no nonsense enthusiast where only a race car on road will do. They are one of the most invigorating cars you can drive for any price.
RHD S1’s rarely come up for sale any more and many have been abused and modded or converted with Japanese or Audi motors. This car has never been tracked.
Reason for sale? I live in Central London and speed bumps simply do not work with such an uncompromising machine.
