MERCEDES 230 SL 1965 PAGODA (1965) £49,990
08001701515
Description
Mercedes 230SL (Pagoda) 4 speed Automatic 1965
Produced from 1963 through 1967, it replaced the 190SL W121BII. Its nickname “Pagoda” derived from the slightly concave hardtop.
The bonnet, boot lid, door skin and tonneau cover were made of aluminum to reduce weight. With a short and wide chassis, excellent suspension and powerful brakes the W113 handled superbly for its time.
Powered by an inline six cylinder engine with multi-port fuel injection and lighter body, the 230SL is considered, by some, to be the sportier of the W113’s
This vehicle is in its final stages of a, no expense spared, restoration. Mercedes Benz of Guildford undertook the mechanical refurbishments in 2011 followed by Spellbound completing the project in 2012.
The engine has been the subject of a complete rebuild by an industry specialist.
The bright red body and interior with biscuit leather trim are in great condition.
Supplied with the optional black hardtop and a period Becker radio, this vehicle is in superb condition throughout.
This car is offered for sale at £49,990
