Exterior

This Pagoda really is the ideal combination, it's a European model in RHD that was imported to the USA when only 2 years old. It then lived out most of its days in sunny California before being imported back to the UK in 2007 by the current owner. These make great basis for restoration as despite being faded by the sun they are normally rust free and the big bonus with this car is it being RHD.
On arrival to the UK in 2007 it was taken to Minerva Motors in London who have conducted a full bare metal engine out re-spray to an exceptional standard. The re-spray has been fully documented at every stage with photographs.  A new Mercedes-Benz hood was ordered from Germany and fits the car perfectly.

Interior

On the recommendation of the Mercedes-Benz club the interior has been fully re-trimmed by 'D Class' in original blue leather with the correct perforations, and new tailored carpets. The car has its original Becker radio and a set of new original speakers. The Nardi steering wheel was an optional US extra that has been fitted to the car before it was brought back to the UK. All the controls work as they should and the current owner even went to the trouble of importing a replacement wood centre console from Asia.

Engine and Transmission

To the current owners surprise it turned out the car was fitted with the later 280 engine. This engine was removed and carted off to 'Crewe Engines' for a full rebuild, it came back looking like a piece of art! Many other parts where then replaced including the fuel pump, battery, spark plugs, filters, temperature gauge, engine mounts, exhaust, ignition system, track rod ends, all fluids and coolant hoses. The car now runs like a dream.

Wheels Tyres and Brakes

This Pagoda is fitted with some very rare factory option wire wheels, all in great condition shod in nearly new Federal tyres.  The brakes have been fully overhauled less than 500 miles ago with new callipers.

History

Originally registered in the UK in 1964 the car was imported by its original owner to the USA in 1966, it then lived out most of its days in sunny California until it was bought by its current owner and imported back to the UK in 2007. Since its return to the UK it has undergone an extensive restoration costing in excess of £50,000. The owner has kept all the receipts and taken dozens of photographs throughout the restoration, which have been documented in a wonderful photo book (copy included in the history).
On completion the car was shown at a Mercedes dealer show, roped off next to Lewis Hamilton's F1 car, it was also published in the Mercedes-Benz owner's club magazine (copy included).
There is also a new Mercedes-Benz service book that shows all the service work that has been done since the restoration.
