MORGAN 4/4 Le Mans (1938) £74,990
- Location: Wiltshire, United Kingdom
Financing Available, Delivery AvailableIn 1936, the Morgan 4/4 was introduced as The Morgan Motor Company/'s first car. This example, EVR804, is perhaps the rarest of them all. In 1937 a young solicitor/'s daughter, Prudence Fawcett began looking for a car to race at Le Mans having watched the Le Mans race that year. An entry was arranged and a Morgan 4/4 was supplied by The Morgan Motor Company. Only 3 official Le Mans replicas were built and sold after the war, however there were seven other cars built to a very similar specification, this being the only 4 seater ever built. To sum up the importance of this car, The Morgan Motor Company, in a letter to the owner in 1988 (original included in the history file), certify the car is /'not only of considerable historical interest but to the best of our knowledge the only such vehicle in existence/' and /'feel it is vitally important that the car is kept in the original specification/'. Never before sold on the open market, she is arguably the best preserved unrestored pre-war motor car in existence.
