MORGAN MORGAN 4/4 SPORT (2009) £28,950
Nadder Valley Classics
- Location: Salisbury, United Kingdom

Description
Some cars are classics the day they leave the factory and any Morgan qualifies in our book, so we are delighted to offer this pristine low mileage example. It is a 2009 4/4 Sport, the model which took Morgan's first four-wheeler back to its roots. The ethos behind the Sport was simple - remove all excess weight and complication and get back to Morgan basics. With no bumpers, spare wheel or complicated hood mechanism, the Sport tips the scales at under 800 kgs dry weight, making the most of every one of the Ford 1600 Sigma engine's 110 bhp. It gives the car 8.0 second 0-62 acceleration, yet should still return over 40 mpg. Even more impressively the emissions are so low that the car costs just £120 a year to tax.
Our car was registered in 2009 - Morgan's centenary year. It is finished in the classic combination of Le Mans Green with Saddle Brown leather interior. Black painted wire wheels add a muscular edge and the Moto Lita wood rim wheel is a nod to tradition. Other than the optional luggage rack it is in standard specification. To our eyes Morgan got the detailing just right with the Sport. The painted dash harks back to the fifties and the simple white on black Smiths dials look just right. The cockpit is a very pleasant place to be.
The car is immaculate. It has had just one owner and has covered only 8400 miles from new, with full service history. It has scarcely a mark or sign of use on it. And it drives exactly as you would expect given the mileage. The throttle response is eager and the rack and pinion steering light and direct. The Ford five-speed box gives quick, direct changes and the excellent power to weight ratio makes the car a delight to hustle along Wiltshire's country lanes.
The formula for the 4/4 has changed little in 75 years and nor does it need to. Traditional British sports car motoring, low running cost and modern practicality combine to make this a hugely desirable and entertaining car.
