This stunning early Porsche 356 Pre-A Coupe was manufactured to 1953 specification and is believed to be the 11th car supplied by AFN in early 1954 to a Mr Nicholas Goulandris of the Greek shipping company bearing the same name. The car remained in his ownership for over 50 years, during which time it underwent many colour changes in keeping with the fashions of the time. In 2005 Mr. Goulandris finally decided to part with his beloved Porsche, gifting it on to a long-standing employee, who then passed the car to the current owner, a Porsche marque specialist.
Since purchasing the car, the vendor has undertaken an extensive rebuild to now near-concours condition. Pleasingly the shell was extremely well preserved, and still maintains all of its original panels, including floorpans. The interior was at one time covered in red crushed velour, which, it transpires, was a wise move, as when removed the original and very well preserved seat covers and door panels were revealed.
During the rebuilt the car was prepared to FIVA specification and as such is provided with the papers required to enter into such events as the Mille Miglia.
Presented today in truly excellent condition in all respects, and finished in a delightful shade of Sky Blue with original Light Tan interior, RYF 35 will be supplied with photographic records of the restoration, Porsche certificate of authenticity, UK V5 and current UK MoT certificate.
