Porsche 906 Works Test / Race Car (1965)

This Porsche 906 is one of two works prototypes built in 1965, being completed on 28th November. Following testing at Hockenheim and Wolfsburg the car was entered in the Le Mans Test weekend in April 1966, finishing 12th driven by Herbert Linge. On 12th May 1967 the factory sold the car to Wolfgang Bock of Bremen, who also resided in Imperia, Italy. He sold it two years later to another Swiss, Michel Yves Dunant, who kept the Porsche until 2003. Over the next two years the car was restored by Tidi Schneller. As well as letters from Jurgen Barth, the history of 016 is documented in his 906 book. The car has an FIA Historic Technical Passport in Period F Class SR19 and has raced at a number of events such as the Le Mans Classic. Contact us for further information
