Description
Midnight Blue and Grey with Navy Leather. CHASSIS NO 9RY. ENGINE NUMBER BL35. (7668 cc) Superb example of the more desirable SWB "Continental" of which only 153 RHD examples were built, from a total run of 1402 Phantom 11,s. Extensive restoration carried out by Classic Restorations of Alyth between 1999 and 2004, with over 50 detailed photographs and all invoicing to accompany. Copies of original supplying invoice and factory build inspection sheets still present, showing car originally as a RR factory trials car, before passing to first owner Mr N Garrord Thomas, St Johns Wood, London N8 for the pricely sum of £1703 in December 1935. In 1954 car was shipped to its new owner in Kenya, then after spending a lenghty period in USA re imported back to UK circa 1996 in very original and unrestored condition. Huge spend has been lavished in all the right areas of this car, resulting in strong mechanics, superbly smooth drivetrain, beutifull straight coachwork and stunning interior trim. During a recent test run of over 220 miles on Scottish Highland roads, this car maintained similar oil pressure to that recorded on the factory test data present in the cars history file from 1934. A great oppurtunity to acquire an extremely desirable model, with excellent history and provenance, offered at a very attractive price.
