Fine and Classic is proud to present for sale, surely, one of the best Triumph Stags in the country. The Triumph Stag is a British car that was sold between 1970 and 1978 by the Triumph Motor Company, styled by the Italian designer Giovanni Michelot...

Envisioned as a luxury sports car, the Triumph Stag was designed to compete directly with the Mercedes-Benz SL class models. All Stags were four-seat convertible coupes, but for structural rigidity,  and to meet new American rollover standards at the time,  the Stag required a B-pillar “roll bar” hoop connected to the windscreen frame by a T-bar. A removable hardtop was a popular factory option for the early Stags, and was later supplied as standard equipment.

Fitted with a 3.0 litre in house V8 overhead camshaft engine, a total of 25,939 Stags were produced between 1970 and 1977 of which approximately 9,000 now survive in the UK, the majority being fitted with automatic transmission.
This particular car is a late model, original, completely un-molested and un-restored, with low mileage and inclusion of the desirable colour coded factory hardtop. It has flawless yellow coachwork, pristine alloy wheels and contrasting immaculate black interior, with an unmarked wooden dashboard. Mechanically excellent with seamless automatic gear changes, this is a superb example of the marque.

Vehicle history: Full history file with receipts detailing all work undertaken throughout the life time of the car, the engine was reconditioned at 16,522 miles with the invoice dated 18/3/86. Old MOT certificates are included dating back 20 years, verifying the genuine low mileage from new. The car has had no structural welding, but has benefited from a repaint ten years ago. Only three former owners, all of whom maintained the Stag regardless of cost, as is evident from the historical documentation.
