DAIMLER SP 250 (1962) £40,000
Fine and Classic
- Location: Bristol, United Kingdom
Description
Fine and Classic is pleased to offer for sale a rare Daimler Dart SP250. Only 2,645 were produced between 1959 and 1964, with this particular car manufactured in 1962. This Daimler has been fully restored by its former owner to a very high standard....
The Dart has a fibre glass body mounted to a sturdy ladder chassis and is powered by a 2.5 litre Hemi–Head V8 engine designed by Edward Turner, which gave it excellent performance in its time of 120mph top speed, a 0 – 60 time of 8.9 seconds and overall fuel consumption of 25mpg. This model also sports Girling disc brakes on all four wheels.
Unfortunately the production of the Dart ended prematurely, with direct competition from the Jaguar ‘E’ type. This is unique vehicle and a piece of British Motoring History, as well as a sound investment.
Vehicle history: With only one previous owner, the Dart has been owned by the same family (father and son) since Feb 1982. A comprehensive restoration commissioned by the late father of the previous owner was carried out by Beales Engineering of Leeds, a recognised Daimler and Lancaster specialist.
The very large history file contains all receipts, correspondence, costing’s and a photographic record of the restoration which was completed in January 1997. Also available is the original Buff Log Book and history details prior to the restoration. It remains in superb condition due to sparing dry weather use and careful storage when not on the road. The car was reluctantly sold to us due to a lack of use and to realise the value of a family asset.
