Description
This car has been with the present owner since 1992. It was subject to a £60,000 nut and bolt professional restoration in 1999 incorporating many upgrades to improve reliability and performance. Since then it has been continuously professionally maintained, always garaged and kept to a very high standard whilst allowing the true patina of a classic car to develop. As a result it now represents the most remarkable Series II you are likely to find, superbly finished, intelligently modified and very usable.
The modifications include:
Stage 1 head with cams
Lightened and balanced crank
Stainless steel manifold and exhaust
Replacement crankshaft oil seals
Upgraded alternator
Upgraded battery
Electronic ignition
Upgraded alloy radiator
Toyota Supra 5 speed manual gearbox
Air conditioning
Wipers park on the left
Upgraded interior cooling fan
Inertia reel front seat belts
Lap straps for the rear seats
Built in quad speakers
Series I interior door handles
Electric windows
Modern CD player/radio
Thatcham Class 1 immobiliser and alarm
Remote central locking
Rob Beere torsion bars
Upgraded discs and pads
Bilstein adjustable shockers all round
C-Type wheels
The paintwork is impeccable in a light bronze, and the panels and door shut lines near perfect. In the decade since restoration was completed both door skins have been replaced and the bonnet has been stripped again and rebuilt. The adjustable shock absorbers allow the car to sit slightly lower than standard to improve appearance and road handling. The wheels are wider than standard and the tyres are slightly lower profile for the same reason.
The car has recently been tuned on a rolling road.
