I'm always amazed to read every month in C&SC that someone, somewhere has discovered a (*insert interesting car here*) in a barn in middlesex or in the case of this months contributor, a Ferrari testarossa in a japanese temple (where else would you find one?)
Has anyone here actually discovered anything interesting tucked away somewhere? Or perhaps bought a farm and discovered 3 Bentleys under a 40 years of agricultural waste/old sacks as in the case of my parters friend in Sussex.
Where are these cars and why can't I find one?!
Nothing glamorours as a Bentley but 2 classics (a VW Type 1 and a VW Type 2) on a field somehere around Lisbon aiport,
And a Vauxhall Viva ina backyard near Oporto...
In my archives I have photos of a farm full of cars, find by me couple years ago. Most of them are Opels. The owner is a very kind person, a petrol head and let me take pics with one condition, number plates must be hiden when posted.
This Honda is just arriving when I take the photo
According to the owner, the cars outside are parts reserves, inside there are the projects and some cars allready restored...
A rare Manta SR
A very rare Fiat 1500 6 cilinders,
Anda few more,
The 80's hatchbacks on the last photo are a Opel Corsa Gt ant an a Citroen AX 4X4.
The owner daily drivers
What a delight your posts are and you are always so polite in return , thanks from us,
Wow - thanks for all the pics guys, great stuff!
That red opel looks kinda tasty!
We've got a very large scrap yard just outside Carcassonne, must go and have a browse...... bound to be some interesting french classics in there I reckon.
Thanks for the comments...
Few more finds from my photo archives..
A few years ago at Costa Rica...
Somehere in the midle of Portugal...
Now two BMWs 02 Touring, on a fileld at least for 10 years---
A Ford Consul in an old garage
And in the same area, a Honda, a Traction and a Austin...
Somehere in Portugal, an MGB GT waiting to get restored under the stairs,
Nice! That's exactly the type of pic I was hoping for when I started this thread.. nice work Nuno.
~Keep those eyes peeled!~
I think you've supplied 90% of the photo's on this entire forum mate, hats off to ya.
thank you for your words,
i have a few more "finds" on archive, once all of them posted, we will live with new finds from me or from other petrol heads.
A "too late " "hill find" near the Spain Border,
The Remains of a 203 Peugeot pick-up, spotted in 2010 winter during week-end holyday trip in my Audi Coupé to the deep south of Portugal.
During the week-end we went to visit the portuguese castle of Jeromenha, a big defense complex located far away from everything, over the Spanish border.
On the hill between the castle and the river who divide Portugal from Spain, I see the remains of an old car. As any petrol head I decided to go down there to take a closer look....
I'ts a mistery how did a car end in such place.
Here are just a couple of barn finds I've found over the years...
1966 Aston Martin DB6 Vantage
1969 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am
1965 Jensen CV8 Mklll
1959 Cadillac Coupe de Ville
1954 Lincoln Capri
1956 Cadillac Eldorado Biarritz Convertible
