Cars boats bikes and planes, in Art
I thought of this as an alternative to the mag management's request that we the punter type subscribers, come up with some jolly good ideas, so as they can go off to Ventnor, I think that is what Mr Elliot was suggesting,on a poor boys type beano tour,-clearly my idea of a freeby subscription for the 30 year faithfulls, fell short of intended target and instead of hitting a bulls eye, fell on death ears, as it was not approved-so obviously not enough slices of the buff'day cake to go around/ one hundred and eighty..
apparantly, unbeknownst to my good self, I am a joint founder of the C&SC Ramblers society, (wheel tappers shunters, and social club, afiliated), Mr Chairman, which was news to me, anyway as I intend to take such an undertaking with the fullest of enthusiasm, propose a full and hearty ramble of our own, hopefully in a copse type yard and bring your own hand tools. Maybe we could club together and go in search of one of Mr Nuno's scrap sites?
this particular artiste's impression could be used in a variety of forum strands and would thereafter provide an endless stream of Rambling associated threads, for those times when the forum faulters through total indifference or interest keeping solelynon track.
Remember the Ramblers code, what was it again?
Rambler's code? Beats me dude, didn't know there was one, probably something like 'Always Shut The Gate And Take Your Rubbish Home'?
. Anyway, if you like your Ramblers 'Woody' check out the Ambassador Station Wagon I posted elsewhere. Wish I had better photos though.
Been away designing my arse off...! Nice logo mate, thanks for putting that up.. tis a nice image that. Sady I don't appear to have a lot of freetime anymore, but will check back when I can.
Here's what I've been upto - !
A bit of sketch work (I'm aiming for a more technical approach @ the mo!) Ignore the writing, its all nonsense.
and a very much work in progress cut-away (loooooooooooong way to go with this particular image - not even 1/2 way yet)
Hope you are doing ok Gav - s'been a while hasnt it?
Not too bad thanks Matt,
Great stuff as usual, good to hear from you, try not to make it so long before your next visit, but well worth the wait this time around, dont work too hard.
Cheers matey :) tell you what, it's been non-stop for me with the run upto Christmas and no sign of stopping yet... don't seem to get out anymore -I'm like Gollum! Computer all day, everyday... poor me.
Some more - only another 45 to go. Yay.
Hopefully I'll get a chance to have a look at the rest of the site at the weekend :)
and I manged to clear up/re-draw the cut-away - my own project, although I'm not sure what I'm gonna do with it yet! Quite possibly a waste of time... but hey!
Cheers Gav - hope all is still well with you
Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooo anything to do with a Road Runner Super B' cannot be deemed a waste of time in my book...keep up the v good work
Heha - yeah guess you're right :)
Gav, reading between the lines, you seem to know a lot of people - I'm currently looking for graphic design work (I've done everything from children's books to night club flyers) do you know of anything?
I freelance for Gulf (as you know) but need to get my hours like, right up.
If you hear of anything can you let me know? would hugely appreciate it.
ps cant see your last image!
I used to do articles and drawings for racing and classic clubs. Even had/have some on one or two racing sites.
I know I am on here a lot because I am still interested in old vehicles, but then I have'nt had any active involvements with owning any old vehicles, or clubs and such either since moving 12 years back and getting shot of some of those 'classic cars'.I kinda dropped out of the clubs by and by and took up sailing again instead.
I could do with the same sort of work, however I am really restricted to the environs of home currently, so yes it would be perfect for me too. Of course if I did happen to hear more of the sort of stuff you specialise in, then I will certainly let you know.
The picture was only of a model Superbird, (but it is joint favourite in the small collection)I say only, a guy in the States who used to come over nearly every year, from America, to take part in the Johnny Herbert GoKart team challenges, I actually had my name down for a drive again, (which could have proved a distinct handicap)sent it me.
He asked if he could bring anything over and as he worked in a Classic Muscle Car emporium, at that juncture.
I happened to ask if a nice Road Runner or Hemi of that ilk, was out of the question?. I couldnt go in person to south London,as I had health issues, and the unexpected model arrived via some other nice forum members. I made him a personalised Callender featuring various cars and drivers we had discussed on line, but that was the last contact and I knew he had moved from New Jersey, reputedly to Florida, no one on that site heard any more either, but I guess that is the net for u.Shame!
The last time I looked in the Karting had been cancelled, and I was tempted to put a Go Kart 'day out' as a possible Birthday outing for the readers and staff of C&SC.
OK getting off track again but the picture I took on my mobile, sent to another and it downloaded OK
-I managed to surprise my camera into action so said Plymouth model
I gotcha mate, no problemo - but yeah if you do hear of anything, that would be grand :) They're pretty fit the chargers - and completey barking mad based on the original specs... must admit would love a go in one, but I think it would be problematic around our little villages.. not to mention keeping an eye on the 'max headroom' signs as you enter the underground carparks.. how big is that tail?
Just a couple more images before I bugger off into another loooooooong night.
semi-xray design: (actually '69 - was tired)
and another ad-esq design (new that cut-away would come in handy somewhere!)
Fast and furious 4, there was a Road Runner called the Hammer in that-I remember the blown Charger Van Diesel drove in the first one
