Now i was going through a random website when i stumbled across this picture.

It then got me thinking, what are people's views on modifying classic cars to make them into eyesores? And have you any interesting pictures to share?

Sorry to p*ss on your fireworks there Bizi_P but that is a fake Photoshop job. Zoom in close and you will notice there is no reflection of the snowplough in the polished chrome of the front bumper or the light rims. There is also no apparent point of fixing around the radiator shell, The tyre tracks show the car was reversed into that position but even so the snow was not deep enought to need a plough anyway. Also, further investigation reveals that car is used for a wedding hire business and therefore not likely to be doing double duty on snow patrol.

DUESIE, thank you for your comment and excellent photo reading skills. However, i was just using this image to illustrate some of the atrocities that certain people like to do to Classic Cars.

Yes, of course. Sorry, I got carried away with my detective work and lost the plot. As for mistreated and vandalised classics I guess there will be many and this thread will run awhile. I do not have one of those photo hosting website accounts but I can start by suggesting anything eighties with colour-coded bodykits, the obvious Porsche, Mercedes or BMW versions, but there were many tasteless jobs done on Rolls Royce and particularly Bentleys of that time. Of course the seventies 'Pimp' style of American barges, Lincoln,Cadillac etc is probably back in fashion now. Oh yes, and anything stretched is usually crap too.

How about a Caterham Seven fitted with an Austin Ruby body:

Really excellent effort , mark of genius but the builder seems to have lost the plot . This car could have been so impressive but it is lacking in a couple of the most important areas, where is the engine ? It looks like a 4cyl A series might be hiding under that all enclosing bonnet . Needs at least a V6 or preferably a “stonking “ great V8 with giant 4 barrel poking out . Those wheels !!! Ugh ,so dreary in black, needs loads of shiny stuff to bring it alive and matt black paint is a mark of failure in the looks division how about some metal-flake or candy apple lacquer? Top marks for the concept Mike. Austin bodied special .

Have to agree with rolymo35 here. A great concept, Ruby body on Caterham, but it would have been better if it was done right. I know it is a lot more skilled metal bashing required, but to use the original front guards and widened etc to fit to suit the chopped and channeled look, A1++ wouldn't mind one myself!

except maybe we should be on Custom Car forum instead of C&SC???

The most famous Moke in portugal, is a modified one...

The owner is Francisco Lemos, the guy beyond the biggest portuguese car forum.  With a  "shopped" front screen, minilites, no bumpers and cooper underpins & mechanics.

The first photos are taken during the summer national meeting of the portuguese classic car webforum,  but the next one (not my photo) is taken during last January at the start of the CAAF (Classic car Club from Figueira da Foz) new year rally. In the back we can spot the red motor home Transit mk1 that belongs to the club and used as office during this events.

Here with me at the passenger seat during the 1010 national meeting" gincana"
