Sports ,drags , speed and unusual, H ow about this mini- dragster. Harold Bull designed & built 1litre supercharged  BMC engined rail.I bought this  and went racing in Germany in the early 80's. Unfortunately I enjoyed the food there so much it was difficult for me to fit in the car

Blimey! RolyMo has certainly been around. Thanks for all the interesting posts on here, but with what we know of the story so far, I reckon there's a good book in there somewhere. Or maybe he's saving that for a retirement project?

Remind me of the timeline on that one.

I previously posted a lot of my old drag racing memories here last year, (the photos are now no  longer linked) but by the early '80s I was more into Formula racing as well as some sports car stuff in France, but this one looks and sounds familiar?

Was it around before then? Santa Pod or Blackbushe? I was always impressed by those who tried alternative powerplants, trying something homegrwon rather than the obvious blown American V8s.

Let's have more.

Keep posting my own material, spotted on location a report of an interesting ride I had a few years ago.

One day a friend call me asking if  I had VW Type 3 windscreen among my spare parts as one of his friends  had a broken that part on his VW Type 3 Variant. As I have a few windcreens on my harehouse (my father big house backyard shelter...) and as my friend is not looking to make any profit and just trying to help his own friend i said that I will give it for free.

To my surprise my friend said "ok! thank yoy!, if you want to deliver it here at Vila do Conde (25km from Oporto) i offer you a ride on the Unipower".

My friend is Rui Sanhudo, a well know portuguese classic car enthusiast who restored one of the few Unipower Gt LHD survivers and race it  at the portuguese major events. He lives at Vila do Cond home town of on one of the most famous  portuguese urban circuits  during from the 50's to the 90's,  in front of the finish line of the old circuit and is the organizer of a revival event on the old circuit.

The story of that  Unipower Gt...

http://www.unipower-gt.com/

The Ride....

Meet the car...

Basic information about how to ride this particular car, gears, ideal revs, etc...

Ang go for a few laps on the old circuit...

And as everything cames to an end, I must return the Unipower to the owner...

(now not my own material)

Some time after this ride Rui restored this Lotus FF61 and if  some day one of his friends need another windscreen it will be a pleasure to make another deal with him.

Some snaps of the Vila do Conde Circuit

The famous "Curva do Castelo" (castle Cend)...

The finish line....

Back to my own material, myself on the unipower exactly at the same place...
