Chris,

At the beginning the meeting was sut up by RWD fans, but as it grows, some FWD start to show up as me with my Sciroccos por Audi Coupe nobody show animosity :)

The the vast majority of cars still RWD.

That's ok, even a FWD car is RWD when it is in reverse gear!

Thanks for your words Chris,

I understand your point of view and I love both, but i think the Peugeot is a car with a better enginnering and assembly quality and the Rover lack a lot of both, even if is a good loking car (iit's a 2600cc petrol engined verson, rare in Portugal as most are diesels).

My father wealthiest friend (i think...) is a 70yo petrol head, who uses a late model Honda Civic  R as daily driver when in town,  owns a Porsche 993 (bought new..) for the week-ends (he said to me that after 160km/h he start to forget the management of his business...) and a Range Rover when he goes to his cottage in the montains.

He bought the only SD1 Vitesse (still owns it) I ever see in Portugal, but in the past when he use it as daily driver mom was allways saying "I dont understand, whys such an expensive car is  broken again and again".

When I take the photo we are talking about that and even the owner make jokes about the car flaws.

Yes, I knew somebody in England who bought one of the first when the V8 was launched in '76.  Like his later Jaguar, it was a case of nice idea, badly made.  That Rover could have been a great car and saved the company, but they were built like Ladas - crap!

Yeah, probably right about the FIAT van - FIAT always did mean Fix It Again Tony, so maybe that was Tony's van?

Now I'm in risk of never drive again my good friend Relvas Fiat 124 Spider . and that's no good :), or never have the help of my friend João to find parts over the web. Fresh catch,

Some snaps from the last informal RWD meeting, held  every Thursday in LIsbon area. The meeting is growing and the classics are in minority. but its a good place to meet and chat among petrolheads with different tastes.

I went there in my Scirocco

Well at least all of Nuno's photos have come back.  So let's not look at too many of them, or Photobucket will say "enough" and penalise him for being too popular again.

How weird is that?
