Spotted: classic cars on the road
As GBt says, many American beauties' hand brakes were left-foot operated. As it was the case for 1964 Oldsmobile Jetstar 88.
Seeing here (bellow) in Findel, Luxembourg, October 2011
A Mehari (not so fresh) spotted today at Oporto,
A 356 shell on a trailer, spotted yesterday at Oporto,
Few moments later I meet a fellow member of the portuguese webclassics forum, a Fiat fan, we chat for a while and i have my first ride on a Fiat 128.
I'm surprised how alive is that tiny 1100cc engine.
Not a classic and I apologise for besmirching this thread with it, but it was heartwarming to see one street-parked in Putney... even if pretty much everything else about this outsized, overglitzed monster was kind of depressing to this enthusiast.
James, need not to apology for the RHD Maybach. I wouldn't mind a Maybach treatment after hard driving a few miles in an Elan at the Nordschleife. Besides, Maybach is a popular car comparing to new Bugattis, isn't it? May be the next post-crisis people's car
Here is an (not totally insane) idea for celebrating C&SC 30th birthday: Haymarket shall offer to C&SC's staff and readers a trip to Goodwood in a chauffeured (of course) Maybach
LHD two tone Maybach in Luxembourg, January 2011
Who will refuse a Maybach traitement?
It seems a few photos of my previous comments have been lost in Flickr.
I will try to find them. Sorry for the inconvenient. ML
Hope you retrieve em Ok
May be the opposite to a Maybach, but almost as elegant. Elan 2+2 in Luxembourg, September 2011
James, please help (or forward to the site's Webmaster) I cannot find the "edit" button in some of my comments, so I cannot restore a few photos missed
GBt, it seems your Maybach cartoon is also missing, isn't it?
