Some Testarossas

In Luxembourg, September 2011

and

In Tarrasa, near Barcelona, 2010, but she rather liked the Porsche 964 or it seemed so

To the site's Webmaster: I still cannot find the "edit" button to restore a few photos in old comments

For some reason I always liked the look of the Studebaker Avanti, so was chuffed to find one parked a few metres from my blue 450SLC at a race meeting - not quite 'on the street' but a public car park is near enough.

A dream spot for me, this. You see exotics and all sorts and snap them, but a mint-looking AMC Pacer, cruising its way down one of the trendier roads in downtown Paris, just doesn't happen that often.

I only just noticed this accidentally, I must have clicked the wrong link but hey! An AMC Pacer! Now we're talking classic James. These were so weird, but good too, hats off to AMC for at least trying something different when the big three were turning out anonymous barges in two sizes; medium and large. I would like to find a good one of these now, but preferably the V8 as I remember servicing my mate Pete's straight six version in London in the eighties and I believe it still had the original spark plug in #6 cylinder that it left the factory with. Maybe you had to remove the speedo to change that one?

Oh yes, and to pass an MoT back then when some over zealous examiner failed it on having clear indicator lenses at the front, we boiled them in saffron for a while, and then as that was still not yellow enough stuck some cellophane wrapper off a Lucozade bottle on the inside.

Test passed!

Anyone still got a brown (with gold stripe) '76 with a lingering smell of cat's p*ss (sad, but true story) in UK?

Also saw a Ford Capri Mk. III toady in West Wickham, but no photo.

In October 2011, I went to Brussels on a business trip. The economic world was in turmoil, a big European bank was being cut into bits in that very moment and a member of selective euro-group worried stock markets, but my biggest concern was a few floors bellow.

On arrival to my room in a multi-star hotel (expenses paid, so it was not my choice), the window was open. The maid should have left it open because of the mild autumn atmosphere. When I tried to close it, I spotted something red down in the street.

Zoom it

Looked like a pretty Lancia Montecarlo spider. I had to have a closer look. Put back my shoes and got into the Barbour again, fearing the idea the Montecarlo might be gone before I reach the elevator.

I started shooting from the lobby

The Pininfarina body was in remarkably good condition for a street car in central Brussels.

Thanks for sharing Mario,

Nice car in a  nice town even if we dont see too much classics on the road there, at least if we compare with Amsterdan, Paris or Berlin.
