Spotted in Lisbon, during last days...

VW Type 1 with german plates, enjoying Lisbon downtown riverside area, probably a "made in Mexico" model...

Spitfire MkIII...

VW Type 2 Bay, ex-ambulance...

Maybe it's because it's a fast car ou maybe I'm loosing my carspotter skills, but I couldn't get a proper photo of this 80's 911 cabrio...

I really need to start carrying a camera around with me... As I left the office yesterday evening I was confronted by not one, but a dozen or more 1950s Jaguars (mostly XK140s, but a couple of 120s and 150s too) parked in the street outside - definitely not what you expect to see in the soulless corner of Frankfurt where I work.

This time I catch the "Porker"

An Impact Bumper 911, spotted yesterday on the the way to surf in Lisbon area. The number on the door indicates that it's returning from the Porche 911 parade heald at Cascais to celebrate the model's 50th anniversary...

The The first time I ever went to a Motor Sport event, it was in one of these, to Cadwell Park, that with a Cadet friend from the Nav College in Grimsby, and his bro who owned a dark Blue Fiat 850, but with hubcap wheels and a single exhaust, the same colour as my Dad's first 2300 Berlina, (albeit by that time he was on his second, a steel grey one)and later my own Fiat Abarth 127 Sport that I raced till it rusted from the inside out!.

The brother picked us up from the hostel in Grimsby and we enjoyed seeing loads of racing Minis, Anglias, Escorts, Beemer 1800s still some 3/8 Jags and a then excotic 911 Porsche jumping over Deer Leap(or is that Oulton, cant remember)but anyway the yumping was good at Cadwell..

We then went to the 2 brother's mum's home in Lough and enjoyed a great tea, and were driven back to Grimble in the Mum's Auntie Rover 105R by Pete the cadet friends elder brother.. As a recent widow I presumed it had been the Father's steed.

Very kind of them and I was reminded also of it when going through Louth 20 odd years later, from Skeggy to The Notts Americana in a 56 TBird with another friends 58 Fairlane in tow.
