Hi,

My wife and I are classic car fans and are hoping that someone may be able to help us.

My Father in law had a car back in the 1930s which we now think may be a Singer Nine Sports (4-cylinder 972cc) 1933 could anyone confirm this by the picture?

Also we don't know the registration but wondered if we could find the reg and owners information just by his name and address off the DVLA as we were interested if he bought it new as it cost about £185 which was a lot of money back then also what happened to it

Many thanks

Dave

I had three of these  cars in 1958/9, Two were stripped for parts as they were too far gone to be restored, one was BRGreen, one light blue and the third was black which I did restore ,repainted in cream on the body with black mudguards and fuel tank, If I remember correctly the cars with chrome stone guards in front of the radiators (which yours appears to have ) were called :- Singer 9 Le-Mans Specials.and were fitted with SOH camshaft engines rated at 9hp for taxation purposes. There was a 1-5 litre version but very few were ever sold.Unfortunately I ha ve not retained any records of reg or vin numbers from that period but If it helps this all occured in Kidderminster, Worcs. I sold car and parts in 1960.
