The 20 million pound Ferrari

| 18 Nov 2015

RM Sotheby's Driven by Disruption auction has caused a bit of a stir in recent weeks, not least following the announcements that an Aston Martin DB4GT and unbelievably well-preserved 500 Mondial are expected to cross the block for incredible sums. Both, though, will be eclipsed by the 1956 Ferrari 290 MM that carried Juan Manuel Fangio to fourth place at that year's Mille Miglia.

"It's hard to know where to start when describing just how important this 290 MM is," said Peter Wallman of RM Sotheby's. "Driven by the greatest drivers of the 1950s and built for possibly the greatest driver in history, this is a car with which Enzo Ferrari was personally involved and is a fundamental part of Ferrari folklore."
