AUSTIN 8
2-seater, tourer, 2-door saloon, 4-door saloon.
Excellent little car, supplanting the older 7s from March '39. Entirely new engine of monobloc design, other improvements include new styling (alligator bonnet, projecting boot) and chassis with integral floor. All with Girling brakes, pedal and lever work on all four wheels. Tourers as sporty as the rival Morris, two seaters the same with luggage space instead of seats. This last made in large numbers to military account 1939-44, but four-door saloons only post-war.
