First unitary Austin and their answer to the Morris Minor, soon to share its engine and gearbox. Lighter and more frugal than the Morris, but hydromech brakes and a narrow track that makes the A30 hazardous in crosswinds. Structure durable. Two-door from late 1953, Countryman from September 1954.
