Better looking and roomier A35 replacement courtesy of Pininfarina, and a well-loved little hack in its day: still common, which suggests good tinworm resistance. Wider track, but still not fun to drive. Larger engine from October 1962. Mk II has longer wheelbase, wind-down windows, restyled front and full hydraulic brakes in place of Mk I's hydro-mechanicals. Countryman wagon is in fact an early hatchback saloon.
