BMW 5-SERIES (520 'six')

4-door 5-seater saloon.

BMW's first new engine designs since early sixties was this 'small' overhead cam 'six', coded M60, introduced at the same time in 5-Series and 3-Series cars. Different in every detail from von Falkenhausen 'big' six, but same basic layout. New 520 with Solex carbs and 122bhp replaced injected 520i 'four' with 125bhp - negligible performance different and no style changes. Note engine sizes actually identical, four to six cylinders.
