BMW 5-SERIES (six cylinder)

4-door 5-seater saloon.

5-Series structure with big six-cylinder engine from 2.8/3-litre saloons squeezed aboard, with power outputs ranging from 145bhp (525) to 176 bhp (528i). Four wheel disc brakes on all cars, and many with automatic transmission, but sheet steel virtually the same as four-cylinder cars. For America only, 530i (with de-toxed 2985cc engine) was available. Hot m535I version followed in eighties. Shell re-styled (as four-cylinder cars) in 1981, produced until 1987.
