2-door 2-seater coupé.

Originally BMW's race car project, overtaken by long development period. Twin-cam/24-valve race version of famous in-line 'six', mid-mounted, driving through ZF gearbox. Tubular chassis by Lamborghini, style by Giugiaro, body in glass-fibre and mind-blowing 162mph top speed. Baur of Stuttgart assembled them on BMW's behalf. A formidable road car, never type-approved for UK, but more than a dozen used here. Highly desirable, immensely costly - and not a project BMW will repeat!
