The Citroen-Maserati marriage didnít last long, but it was worth it for this combination of handling and complexity. Citroen suspension plus a four-cam V6 and five-speed 'box. Top speed 135mph, fuel injection from mid-'72, automatic (with 3-litre unit) available mid-'73, but Peugeot bought Citroen and killed the SM before RHD could become an option.
