Big-selling small-medium Ford, UK designed but also built in West Germany, assembled worldwide lke other seventies Fords. Rounded style monocoque, MacPherson front end, cross-flow head engines, slick gearboxes. Automatic option on 1300s, but rare. Cheap and cheerful, and hundreds of tatty ones survive. Gave rise to many more exciting versions.
