FORD V8 PILOT

4-door saloon, estate car.

Marriage of the pre-war 22hp chassis/body to the classic 30hp flathead engine. Hydro-mechanical brakes and bent-wire column shift. Very tough, hence a high survival rate: there's a good club as well. Pilots come cheaper than their pre-war counterparts. Wagons - by outside specialists - very rare; pickups (nominally export only) scarcer still.
