HILLMAN AVENGER TIGER

4-door 4-seater sports saloon.

Limited production derivative of Avenger intended for racing and rallying. Few Tiger Is with bonnet bulge and boot-lid aerofoil, more Tiger IIs with quad headlamps, no bonnet bulge, more refined mechanical spec. Standard spec, included twin-Weber engine and alloy wheels - up to 110mph in some conditions. Formed basis for successful race-rally saloon, somehow homologated as Group 1 'standard' saloon, winning RAC championships. A few, for serious competitors, had 1.8-litre or even 2-litre engines.
