Yet another unsuccessful large Lancia, this time Fiat-inspired. As expected, front-wheel drive, but flat-four engine a real surprise. Pininfarina style, Rover SD1 size (overall length 180ins), all-independent suspension, four-wheel disc brakes and five-speed transmission, with optional automatic transmission - all 'state-of-the-art' for the period. Somehow, though, not smooth enough, not nimble enough, not powerful enough, to succeed. 2-litre engine only sold in Italy as 'taxation special'.
