LOTUS ELAN S2/S3

2-seater sports, coupè.

Same basic specification, but S2 introduces larger front brake calipers, polished veneer dash, (optional) centre-lock wheels. S3 first launched as fixed-head, in 1965; drophead S3 (better hood, coupè's framed electric windows) follows in '66 to replace S2 convertible . Higher final-drive ratio, plus an optional close-ratio gearbox and standard centre-locks, on all S3s; Special Equipment (SE) model has 115bhp engine, c/r 'box, servo brakes.
