MARCOS MANTIS
2-door 4-seater coupé.
The terrible styling must have helped kill this car within months. Another Adams creation, much knocked about after he created it. Powered by 150bhp Triumph TR5 type fuel injected engine. Like other large Marcos, this had steel tube frame with coil spring suspension and rigid rear end. Overdrive was standard and it was supposedly good for 125mph. Glass fibre shell had well-equipped, tasteful interior, but nothing could rescue those looks. It definitely deserved to die - pity it helped drag the company down with it.
