Up-market, up-specification, medium-sized Mazda: Cortina-sized, with about as much character, in spite of 101bhp (gross) 1.8-litre overhead cam engine. Mazda described Bertone styling as 'superlative in every respect'! As with all such current Japanese cars, well equipped and trimmed, and reliable, but caused no stir here.
