MERCEDES BENZ 280S/280SE SALOON/COUPE & CABRIOLET

Saloon, coupè, cabriolet.

Yet another permutation using the 280SL's bigger seven-bearing engine, though on S versions you get twin carburettors and 140bhp. Coupès and cabriolets (as always) come with fuel injection as standard. Power steering and automatic on options list: so is a very rare five-speed 'box. 280SE 3.5, with new V8 engine, introduced end '69; current until mid-'71 as coupè/cabriolet, until autumn '72 as saloon. Latter sold as 4.5 litre in the States.
