Misguided attempt to replace much-loved Mini-Cooper with long-nose clubman body style and standard-tune 1.3-litre engine. Little character, no charisma - yet it sold surprisingly well! Only a single-carb, non-sporting engine, and 85mph top speed, but front discs. 'Dry' suspension from mid-'71, and larger disc brakes, plus optional 12ins Denovo tyres from mid-'74. Denovos standard from mid-'77. Dropped with relief to all BL Mini company enthusiasts to make way for Metro.
