New 948cc, 37bhp engine (though not its SU carburettor) shared with Austin's A35. Curved single panel 'screen; matching, larger rear window and dished steering wheel are other recognition features. Close-ratio 'box a great improvement on Series II. From late 1961, flashers replace semaphore trafficators.
