OLDSMOBILE TORONADO (1970-78)

2-door 6-seater hardtop coupé.

Bigger, heavier, longer-wheelbase version of original Toronado, still with front-wheel drive. From 1971, a sharp style, made crisper over the years with skin changes. No longer sporty, merely large, plus and self-important. Power units way down from the start, to only 215bhp (net) in 1976, then smaller 200bhp unit for '77. Drastically downsized for '79.
